Launched in November 2010, Fairways for Warriors is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a better quality of life for wounded veterans and service personnel by using golf and its instruction. Its mission is to reduce the number of veteran suicides and to provide mental, physical, emotional, social and spiritual rehabilitation to combat veterans and their families. These fundraising events provide combat-wounded veterans with the feeling of camaraderie and brotherhood they shared with fellow soldiers in the military, while also giving them hope and helping them heal. Fairways for Warriors has found that golf instruction helps with the physical, cognitive, emotional and social aspects of each wounded veteran’s rehabilitation process. With Fairways for Warriors, participating families find support within their own family, as well as with other families who have experience the same or similar situations.
